Training Program in Mindfulness
The Training Program in Mindfulness, or Full Attention, focuses on the mind's ability to direct attention to the present moment with acceptance of everything that arises.
Mindfulness training is supported by solid research that endorses its benefits in promoting emotional regulation and reducing stress.
REM offers guided teaching, not just a set of meditations, for a gradual training through 8 stages that can be completed at the user's preferred or feasible pace, whether it be days, weeks, or months.
Each stage comprises three sections known as: LISTEN, PRACTICE, and INTEGRATE. Throughout the program, you will receive important information for your mind's training in the LISTEN section, be introduced to fundamental mindfulness practices in the PRACTICE section, and gain ideas to incorporate this mindset into daily life in the INTEGRATE section.
The program has been developed by a team of three psychiatrists and a clinical psychologist working within the Spanish National Health System at Hospital Universitario La Paz and Hospital Príncipe de Asturias, as well as at Autonomous University and Alcalá University in Madrid. This team of experts has pioneered the integration of mindfulness programs into their regular clinical practice with patients suffering from depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and other disorders as well as oncological, infectious, or neurological diseases. They have also conducted research on the effects of such programs on various health issues and the impact of such training on shaping future therapists. Their work has been published in internationally renowned journals, books, and book chapters.
The program has been designed by them based on other standardized mindfulness programs they have undergone training, data from international scientific literature, rigorous study of Buddhist texts - the foundation of practice - and their extensive clinical experience.
Both the teachings offered in the LISTEN section and the formal practices have a maximum duration of 12 to 15 minutes each to make them accessible for daily activities and gently guide you towards daily practice.
The program also provides statistics on your practices, both for each section individually and overall. If desired, it offers daily reminders about the chosen practice time and on day 8 - the final stage of the program - you can opt to receive a handwritten reminder from your future self with all that you have found valuable to keep for the rest of your life.
You can listen to and practice the first two stages for free. Stages 3 through 8 are unlocked after a small fee of 3.50 euros. You can navigate and explore the program at your discretion or follow the steps suggested in the application. In this case, learning progresses gradually from Stage 1 through Stage 8 in the LISTEN section and practices are structured sequentially in the PRACTICE section to facilitate natural INTEGRATION into your life.
